After years of serving student writers online, we've narrowed our most frequently asked questions down to seven items. If you don't find your questions answered here, you may wish to browse our service descriptions to see if an answer is offered on our site or to contact us for more information about our services. We look forward to hearing from you!
Q: How much do your services cost? Can I see a total before I decide to place an order?
A: Our service prices (listed throughout our site) are based upon the total word count for your draft divided by one page, which is counted at the industry standard of 250 words per page. Our inquiry and checkout pages provide totals before you approve your order. You are never charged for services or prices you don't approve and we never have access to your financial information.
Q: How long does editing or proofreading take?
A: The deadline for your draft depends upon the type of service you order and the kind of draft you have for editing. For essay editing and proofreading, we offer 72 hour, 48 hour, and 24 hour services. Deadlines for these services exclude weekends and holidays and are based upon business hours (Monday-Friday). We also provide weekend express editing services for essay drafts. Our personal statement editing service is a 24 hour service, with drafts due the next business day. Deadlines for the service type you choose are displayed on our inquiry and checkout pages after you select a service type so that you can approve your deadline before ordering.
Q: Does editing include proofreading or do I need to order proofreading as a separate service if I order editing?
A: All of our editing services include a proofreading pass after your draft is edited and before it's sent to you to ensure that no errors have been left. You do not need to order proofreading if you order editing.
Q: Do you provide a plagiarism checking service?
A: We do not provide services to check for plagiarism. We must assume that the drafts we proofread and edit do not include unattributed sources.
Q: I have comments from my professor that need to be addressed. Can I send these to you to be integrated into editing?
Essay editing and proofreading clients can include instructions for editing or proofreading in the comments field of our checkout page before placing an order. We cannot address comments or suggestions related to the argument or overall logical structure of your draft. We recommend that clients needing structural revision or developmental editing seek either a developmental editor or a substantive editor online.
A: Do you guarantee your services?
Q: We do. Any errors in proofreading, editing, or formatting that should have been caught are repaired at no additional charge.
Q: Can I call a representative of EditMyEssay.com to discuss my project?
A: Since we need to keep comments about a given draft in written form with the draft itself to ensure that your concerns are addressed, our online business model does not include a call center. We encourage you to include any comments you'd like in the comments field of our checkout page.
